FREE SYRINGE UNITS CONVERTER
mg to units calculator
and units back to mg.
Convert between an amount and the units on a U-100 insulin syringe. All you need is the concentration.
A math tool, not medical advice. It converts the values you enter and does not choose a dose.
THE FORMULA
Units measure volume.
Concentration does the rest.
Units = mg ÷ concentration × 100
mg = units ÷ 100 × concentration
On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL, so one unit is 0.01 mL. 30, 50 and 100-unit syringes share this scale; they differ only in how much they hold.
QUICK REFERENCE
Units to mg
at common concentrations.
| Units | mL | at 2.5 mg/mL | at 5 mg/mL | at 10 mg/mL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 0.05 | 0.125 mg | 0.25 mg | 0.5 mg |
| 10 | 0.1 | 0.25 mg | 0.5 mg | 1 mg |
| 20 | 0.2 | 0.5 mg | 1 mg | 2 mg |
| 25 | 0.25 | 0.625 mg | 1.25 mg | 2.5 mg |
| 50 | 0.5 | 1.25 mg | 2.5 mg | 5 mg |
| 100 | 1 | 2.5 mg | 5 mg | 10 mg |

QUESTIONS
Good to know.
How do I convert mg to units?
Divide the amount in mg by the concentration in mg/mL to get mL, then multiply by 100. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL. For example, 0.25 mg at 5 mg/mL is 0.05 mL, which is 5 units.
How do I convert units to mg?
Divide the units by 100 to get mL, then multiply by the concentration in mg/mL. For example, 50 units at 2.5 mg/mL is 0.5 mL, which is 1.25 mg.
Why do I need the concentration?
Units measure volume, not amount. The same number of units holds a different amount depending on how concentrated the liquid is, so mg cannot convert to units without the mg/mL figure.
Where do I find the concentration?
A premixed vial usually lists it on the label in mg/mL. If you mixed the vial yourself, divide the vial amount in mg by the water you added in mL, or use the peptide calculator, which works it out for you.
How many mL is 10 units on a U-100 syringe?
10 units is 0.1 mL. On a U-100 syringe every unit is 0.01 mL, so divide units by 100 to get mL: 25 units is 0.25 mL, 50 units is 0.5 mL and 100 units is 1 mL. Switch the converter to units → mg to see mL for any number of units.
Does this converter save my numbers?
No. The values you enter stay in this browser tab and disappear when you leave or reload; they are never stored or sent. Separately, the website counts visits, App Store clicks and that the converter was used, without the numbers you enter. See the Privacy page for details.
Dosii explains terminology and calculates from the values you enter. It does not choose a dose or verify a product. Follow product-specific instructions and guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.
